Eligibility Criteria:

IELTS Application Fee:

Candidates who are willing to apply for International English Language Testing System Examination need to pay the IELTS Registration Fee which will be decided by the British Council and IDP Education Australia.

Selection Process:

No minimum score is required to pass the test, an IELTS Score Card or Test Report Form is issued to all test takers with a score from “band 1” (“non-user”) to “band 9” (“expert user”) and each institution sets a different threshold. There is also a “band 0” score for those who did not attempt the test.

IELTS Exam Pattern:

On the day of examination, the four subsections will be taken in the following order as shown in below stated image and it full description also provided below:

  • IELTS Listening test: It contains four sections, played on tape, in order of increasing complexity. Each section might be a conversation or a monologue and test is played once only, and the questions for each section must be answered while listening, although time is given for students to check their answers.
  • IELTS Reading test: Candidates are given an Academic Reading test or a General Training Reading test, both tests contains three sections, and in both tests the sections are in order of growing complexity.
  • IELTS writing test: Once more, candidates give either an Academic Module, or a General Training Module. They must complete two writing tasks, which need different styles of writing; there is no choice of question topics.
  • IELTS speaking test: It contains one-to-one interview with a specifically trained auditor and conference is documented and has three individual parts such as an introduction and interview, an entity long turn where the applicant verbalizes for one or two minutes on a scrupulous theme, and a joint discussion thematically connected to the individual long turn.

IETLS Test Structure:

There are two versions of the IELTS that is the Academic Version and the General Training Version, There is also a separate test offered by the IELTS test partners, called IELTS Life Skills.

  • IELTS Academic Module: It is planned for those who want to register in universities and other institutions of higher education and for experts such as medical doctors and nurses who want to study or practice in an English-speaking country.
  • IELTS General Training Module: It is proposed for those who planning to start non-academic training or to get work experience, or for immigration purposes.
  • IELTS Life Skills: It is planned for those who require establishing their English speaking and listening skills at Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) levels A1 or B1.

Essential Note:

It can be used to apply for a ‘family of a settled person’ visa, indefinite leave to remain or citizenship in the UK. This exam is held in More than 1,000 test centers in over 140 IELTS Applicable Countries.

How to Apply for IELTS 2024?

First of all applicants required to visit official website of organization that is www.ielts.org. Candidates, who are interested in appearing for IELTS 2024 exam, must register themselves (Registration can be done in any one of the following three methods i.e. Online, Courier and in Person.)

For Online Registration:

  • Candidates should enter their personal details without any error.
  • IELTS Online Application Form should be made seven days before the test.
  • Payment of examination fee can be made by using credit cards or debit cards.

Registration by Courier:

After downloading the Registration form (PDF version), student should review it and attach a demand draft of test fee affix it with IELTS Exam Application Form and send it to the address given in IELTS Notification.

Registration in Person:

  • In some regions, candidates can register themselves by visiting at a local regional office of IELTS 2024.
  • The registration process can be done by a demand draft of Requisite amount of fee that is drawn in favor of “IDP EDUCATION INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED, Payable at New Delhi.
