Haryana launches Gobardhan scheme:-

1. The Union Minister of Drinking Water and Sanitation launched the Govardhan Yojana on April 30 from the Karnal district of Haryana.

2. This scheme focuses on the management of cow dung and solid waste in the fields and conversion of fertilizers, biogas and biogas in CNG.

3. For the first time, the announcement of the Galvanizing Organic Bio-Agricultural Resources Fund (Gobar-Dhan) scheme was announced by Finance Minister Arun Jaitley in the Budget.

Pilot scheme for 2,500 MW power purchase:-

1.The government has launched a pilot scheme for the purchase of total electricity of 2500 MW on competitive basis from the current power plants without “electricity purchase agreement” (PPA).

2.The main objective of the scheme is to revitalize those current power plants which are unable to sell power in the absence of legitimate PPA.

3.Under the scheme bids will be invited in the first week of May.

Fastest second country in air traffic:-

1.India is considered to be the fastest growing country in the world for aerial passenger traffic.

2.Airport Council International (ACI), a global business body representing the airport, predicted its traffic, that by 2023, passenger traffic in emerging economies like India would cross the advanced economies.

3.ACI has placed Vietnam at the top with a growth rate of 8.5 percent.

Blue Origin launches its first space mission:-

1.Blue Origin, a US aerospace company owned by Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, has launched its sub-classical ‘New Shepard’ rocket and space capsule.
2.The mission marked the company’s first test flight of the year and the second flight of the New Sheppard 2.0 spacecraft.
3,New Shepard is a reusable vertical takeoff, a vertical landing space vehicle, in which a booster has a pressure capsule.

World Asthma Day celebrated on May 1 :-

1.Every year on the first Tuesday of May, the World Asthma Day is celebrated.
2.It is organized by the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA), a global health program that aims to improve asthma awareness and care across the globe.
3.The theme of this year’s program is ‘Never to Arri, Never to Late’.
