Course Commencement
Courses will commence in July 2025. Applications are invited for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in the Flying Branch and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches. Additionally, applications are invited for NCC Special Entry Scheme (for the Flying Branch).

Eligibility Criteria
Age
- Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years as of 1 July 2025 (Born between 2 July 2001 and 1 July 2005). Upper age limit for candidates with a valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India) is relaxable up to 26 years (Born between 2 July 1999 and 1 July 2005).
- Ground Duty (Technical/Non-Technical) Branches: 20 to 26 years as of 1 July 2025 (Born between 2 July 1999 and 1 July 2005).

Training
Training for all courses will commence in the first week of July 2025 at Air Force Academy Dundigal (Hyderabad). The duration is as follows:
- Flying and Ground Duty (Technical) Branches: 62 weeks
- Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branches: 52 weeks

Flight cadets receive a fixed stipend of Rs 56,100/- per month during the one-year training period. In addition to pay, allowances are applicable based on duty nature and posting location.
Steps to Apply Online for AFCAT 2024
Applying for a commissioned officer position in the Indian Air Force involves several steps. Follow these instructions carefully to ensure your application is completed correctly.
Step 1: Registration

- Click on the tab for either AFCAT Entry or NCC Special Entry based on your eligibility.
- Create an Account
- If you are a new user, create an account by providing your email ID, mobile number, and other necessary details.
- Verify your account through the link sent to your email.
Step 2: Fill Out the Application Form
- Login to Your Account
- Use your registered email ID and password to log in.
- Complete the Application Form

Step 3: Payment of Examination Fee (For AFCAT Entry)
- Pay the Examination Fee
- Candidates applying for AFCAT entry must pay an examination fee of Rs. 550/- + GST (non-refundable).
- Payment can be made through online banking, credit card, debit card, or UPI.
- Fee Exemption
- Candidates applying for NCC Special Entry are exempted from the examination fee.
Step 4: Submit the Application

- After submission, no amendments will be allowed.

- Download the Admit Card
- Admit cards will be available for download from the same websites a few weeks before the examination date.

- Print the admit card and carry it to the examination center on the day of the test.

Important Instructions
- Eligible candidates must register online through separate tabs for AFCAT Entry and NCC Special Entry.
- Permanent body tattoos are permitted only on the inner face of forearms and back (dorsal) side of hands. Tattoos on other body parts are not allowed.
- Use/possession of narcotics is banned. Candidates may be tested for drugs during medicals and training.
- Online testing for AFCAT entry will be conducted at various centers. Registration fee for AFCAT entry is Rs. 550/- + GST (non-refundable). No fee for NCC Special Entry.
