TANGEDCO Recruitment 2024 Notification
Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Ltd (TANGEDCO) has released a notification for the engagement of Apprentices for the year 2024-25 under the Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act 1973. TANGEDCO – Notification for Engagement of Apprentices
Tamilnadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Ltd (TANGEDCO) invites online applications from eligible Diploma holders in Engineering (passed during 2020, 2021, 2022 & 2023) hailing from Tamil Nadu for undergoing one-year Apprenticeship training under the Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act 1973.
I. Technician (Diploma) Apprentices

II. Minimum Educational Qualifications
Category – II Technician (Diploma) Apprentices:
- A Diploma in Engineering or Technology (Full time) granted by a State Council or Board of Technical Education established by a State Government in relevant discipline.
- A Diploma in Engineering or Technology (Full time) granted by a University in relevant discipline.
- A Diploma in Engineering and Technology granted by an Institution recognized by the State Government or Central Government as equivalent to the above.
III. Age
Age limit will be followed as per Apprenticeship Rules.
IV. Reservation of Vacancies
Guidelines under the Apprentices Act on Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PwD will be followed. Those claiming reservation under SC/ST/OBC/PwD must provide certificates as per Government standard format. If BC/MBC candidates are claiming OBC (Non-creamy layer) category, they should bring an OBC(NCL) certificate as per the approved format from the certificate issuing authority.
10% of TANGEDCO/TANTRANSCO Ward candidates in horizontal reservation.
V. Minimum Physical Standards
As prescribed in Clause 4 of the Apprenticeship Rule 1992, and amendments thereof if any.
VI. Duration of Training
The duration of Apprenticeship training will be for a period of one year as per Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act 1973.
VII. Previous Training/Experience
Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship under Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act 1973, and/or having one year or more experience are NOT ELIGIBLE to apply.
VIII. Selection Procedure
Board of Apprenticeship Training (SR) is interested in the task of preparation of a shortlist from the online application data. Shortlisting of candidates will be done based on the percentage of marks obtained in the basic prescribed qualification as applicable to the respective disciplines. Shortlisted candidates shall be intimated through their registered Email id. Shortlisted candidates have to appear for Certificate Verification at TANGEDCO office premises.
IX. Procedure for Registration and Submission of Application in TANGEDCO (STNCHS000024)
Type ‘A’ – For students who have already enrolled in the old National Web Portal (www.mhrdnats.gov.in) and having login details:
- Type the URL https://nats.education.gov.in
- Click Student
- Click Student login
- Click Forgot Password
- Enter Registered email id to get activation link & Reset password.
- Login with email id and password
- Under “Apply against advertised vacancies” search “TANGEDCO”
- Click apply (You can see the status as “applied”)
Type ‘B’ – For students who have already enrolled in the new National Web Portal (www.nats.education.gov.in) and having login details:
- Login with email id and password
- Under “Apply against advertised vacancies” search “TANGEDCO”
- Click apply (You can see the status as “applied”)
Type ‘C’ – (First time enrollment) For students who have not so far enrolled in the National Web Portal:
- Type the URL https://nats.education.gov.in
- Click Student
- Click Student Register
- Complete the application form
- A unique Enrollment Number (ATN… ………..) 12 digits for each student will be generated.
After completing the Enrollment process:
- Login with email id and password
- Under “Apply against advertised vacancies” search “TANGEDCO”
- Click apply (You can see the status as “applied”)
Note: Upload the Diploma Provisional Certificate (or) Consolidated Mark Sheet. The percentage of marks in the Diploma Examination is mandatory. Hence candidates are advised to compulsorily enter the percentage of marks in the column “% of marks in the NATS portal. If % of marks is not furnished candidature will not be considered.
X. Travel Expenses
No TA/DA will be paid for attending certificate verification.
XI. Boarding/Lodging
No boarding or lodging expenses are admissible.
XII. Upon Completion
Upon completion of the Apprenticeship period, TANGEDCO has no obligation to offer employment to such apprentices nor can an apprentice claim right for employment on the grounds of completion of Apprenticeship.

XIV. Incomplete/Erroneous Applications
Incomplete or erroneous online applications received after the due date will be rejected. No further communication in this regard will be entertained.
XV. Unauthorized Coordination
Board of Apprenticeship Training (SR) has not entrusted/authorized any individual organization to coordinate (or) liaison our work. Candidates beware of touts and our office is not responsible for such unwanted incidents.
XVI. Canvassing
Canvassing/Pressuring through any source will disqualify the candidature and their name will be removed from our official records without prior intimation. This Board will not be responsible for such cases.

Note:
- Vacancies up to 10% are reserved for wards of TANGEDCO/TANTRANSCO of Regular/Permanent employees only (Wards of Contract/Temporary/Casual/Retired employees etc. are not eligible to avail 10% of ward quota).

- They have to produce the Ward Certificate at the time of Certificate Verification only.
