Minimum Educational Qualifications
- Graduate Apprentices:
- A Degree in Engineering or Technology (Full-time) with First Class granted by a Statutory University or an Institution recognized by the State or Central Government.
- Technician (Diploma) Apprentices:
- A Diploma in Engineering or Technology (Full-time) granted by a State Council or Board of Technical Education or by a University recognized by the State or Central Government.
- Non-Engineering Graduate Apprentices:
- A Degree in Arts/Science/Commerce/Humanities such as BA/B.Sc./B.Com/BBA/BBM/BCA (Full-time) granted by a Statutory University or Deemed University in the relevant discipline.
Age Limit
The age limit will be followed as per Apprenticeship Rules.
Reservation of Vacancies
Reservation guidelines under the Apprenticeship Act for SC/ST/OBC/PwD will be followed. Relevant certificates as per Government standard format must be provided.
Minimum Physical Standards
As prescribed in Clause 4 of the Apprenticeship Rule 1992 and amendments.
Duration of Training
The duration of the apprenticeship training is one year as per the Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act 1973.
Previous Training/Experience
Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship or have one year or more experience are not eligible to apply.
Selection Procedure
The Board of Apprenticeship Training (SR) will shortlist candidates based on the percentage of marks obtained in the basic prescribed qualification. Shortlisted candidates will be notified via email and must appear for certificate verification at TNSTC, Trichy.

- Log in and complete the application form to get a unique Enrollment number.
Category ‘B’ – For Students Already Enrolled in the New National Web Portal
- Visit NATS Portal.
- Log in with your email ID and password.
- Under “Apply against advertised vacancies”, search and apply for the respective TNSTC region.
Category ‘C’ – For First-Time Enrollment
- Visit NATS Portal.
- Click on “Student” and then “Student Register”.
- Complete the application form to get a unique Enrollment number.
- Log in with your email ID and password.
- Under “Apply against advertised vacancies”, search and apply for the respective TNSTC region.
Additional Information
- No TA/DA will be paid for attending certificate verification.
- No boarding or lodging expenses are admissible.
- TNSTC has no obligation to offer employment post-apprenticeship.
