JLPT Exam in India

If someone wants to get a high-paying language job in MNCs or any Japanese company as a Japanese expert, the position requires they must be proficient in the Japanese language.

To prove their expertise, the students need to pass JLPT, which requires considerable command of Nihongo.

If you want to make your career in Japanese, you should aim for N2/N1. I’ve rarely seen a lucrative requirement of any JLPT level below the N2/N1 except for entry-level jobs.

Score Report and Certificate of Proficiency

Score reports will be provided to all examinees. Those who pass the exam will receive a Certificate of Proficiency. Score Reports will be sent in Japan in early September for the July test and in early February for the December test. Examinees outside of Japan will receive Score Reports from local host institutions in early October and in early March for the July test.

There are a total of 5 levels in the exam- N1, N2, N3, N4, and N5. The maximum score in each level is 180. Each of these levels includes 3 scoring sections- Language, Reading, and Listening. The candidates will have to pass the sectional cut-off along with the overall cut-off to qualify the exam. Qualifying candidates will be awarded a certificate of proficiency.
