Something to Know:
WBBSE is also known as West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and it was recognized in 1951 under an Act of State Legislature known as West Bengal Secondary Education Act of 1950. The Board of West Bengal was incorporated by the West Bengal Governor (Dr. K. N. Katju) on 3rd May 1951 and Board started functioning under the Chairmanship of Sri Apurba Kumar Chanda. The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education is a self-directed examining authority for 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th standard examinations.
The Board is headquartered in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. The board conducts examinations in two languages the first language includes Bengali / English/ Gujarati/Hindi/Modern Tibetian/ Nepali/ Oriya/ Gurmukhi (Punjabi)/ Tamil/ Telugu/ Urdu/ Santali and second language contains English (Bengali or Nepali), three compulsory subjects (Mathematics, Life Science, and Physical Science) and three additional subjects (History, Geography, Computer Application, Physical Education, Work Education).
